In 2022, Northwest Healthcare made a gift of $5 million to establish the Northwest Healthcare Properties International Policy Network at the Dalla Lana School’s Institute for Pandemics. Directed by a renowned scholar holding the Northwest Healthcare Properties REIT Chair in Comparative Health Policy and Systems, the network leads cross-disciplinary and multinational collaborations to study pandemics, uncover policy insights, train future researchers and help countries mobilize equitable programs to build more resilient health systems.

As an example, the Northwest Network’s partnership with the University of Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is generating insights applicable to both Australia and Canada. The network is also building an advanced research, education and knowledge translation platform with its global academic partners. Ultimately, the Northwest Healthcare Properties International Policy Network aims to support sustainable and high-performing health-care systems all over the world, including the U.S., U.K., Germany and Brazil.
